Why travel with Kodama?

We do the research
Our mission is to make travel a force for good for wildlife and the planet. Kodama was founded by conservationists, and we hand-pick each tour based on tour. We don't solely rely on third-party certifications, as these often fail to meet our own rigorous wildlife welfare guidelines.

Support local businesses
There is no authentic travel experience without thriving local communities. That's why we prioritise working with local businesses and entrepreneurs, ensuring tourism income stays local.

Curate extraordinary experiences
Too often, the burden of researching travel experiences falls on conscious travellers. We know that one experience can make or break your trip, which is why we test our tours and curate only high quality experiences.
Our partnership with World Animal Protection
The partnership is founded on our shared commitment to build a world where humans and animals can live in harmony. Travel can inspire action but also inflict damage, it can bring economic prosperity but can also exacerbate inequality. We support World Animal Protection's campaign for animal welfare within the travel industry, and it is a privilege to partner with this amazing organisation that has been at the forefront of championing the end of animal cruelty worldwide.
Kodama is a London-based online travel agency, but our name was inspired by Japanese folklore. In shintoism, Kodama are mystical tree spirits (木霊) believed to inhabit ancient and sacred trees. In popular culture, Kodama are probably best portrayed through Studio Ghibli's "Princess Mononoke". Kodama are believed to protect the trees they inhabit, and it is our hope that through responsible travel, we can contribute to restoring the harmony between humans, nature, and all living beings.
