Accepted Answer

You can reach our customer support team by chatting with us through the chat function on our website, emailing us at hello@kodamatravel.com, via Whatsapp, or the online form under Contact Us. We currently do not operate a customer support phone line. Please note, we NEVER call customers to discuss payment and booking details.

Question 3

Are the prices on Kodama Travel the same as booking directly with the provider?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We partner directly with travel providers to offer competitive prices.

Question 4

How can I make a booking?

Accepted Answer

Select the experience you want and follow the easy checkout process. You'll receive a confirmation email with all the details. For on-demand and custom tours, we will get back to you within 24 business hours.

Question 5

Can I modify or cancel my booking?

Accepted Answer

Modification and cancellation policies vary by provider. Normally, you can cancel and modify for free within 24 hours through the booking portal that is sent to you via booking confirmation email. Check the specific terms on your booking confirmation. If the trip is cancelled by the supplier, often due to adverse weather, you will receive a full refund. Please note, we NEVER call customers to discuss payment and booking details.

Question 6

Will I be charged for on-demand booking

Accepted Answer

You will receive a full refund if the booking is on-demand and there is no availability, or if the tour has to be cancelled by the operator.

Question 7

Do I need an account to make a booking?

Accepted Answer

You do not need to create an account when making a booking. However, we do require your name, email address, and phone number at checkout so that we can be in touch if there are any changes to the booking. Some providers may require further information depending on the nature of the activity.

Question 8

Can I book last-minute activities on Kodama Travel?

Accepted Answer

Yes, depending on availability. Some experiences allow last-minute bookings, while others require advanced notice.

Question 9

Is my payment secure on Kodama Travel?

Accepted Answer

Yes, your payments are secure with us. We use Stripe to process payments. We prioritise the protection of your personal and financial information. If you suspect of fraud, please let your bank and us know as soon as possible. We never ask for your pins, and we never call customers to take payments.

Question 10

What currency will I be charged at?

Accepted Answer

Kodama defaults to show all listings in British Pounds (GBP). You can select your desired currency from the header. You can select your desired checkout currency at the checkout page.

Question 11

What is your stance on regenerative travel?

Accepted Answer

We believe in the ethos of regenerative travel, and actively seek to partner with conservation organisations so that tourism revenue supports conservation efforts. However, we do not always do so through volunteer or hands-on experiences. As conservationists, we understand that many of these activities require academic or professional training, and a one- or two-day volunteer activity does not always deliver the desired benefits. Sometimes, training can add an extra burden to local NGOs. Therefore, we prefer to support environmental and community initiatives through revenue generation.

Question 12

What are your wildlife welfare guidelines?

Accepted Answer

You can find our Wildlife Welfare Guidelines at kodamatravel.com/wildlife-policy, co-created with World Animal Protection.

Question 13

What is your environment commitment?

Accepted Answer

We are dedicated to minimising the environmental impacts of travel, whilst balancing the benefits tourism brings to destinations. Our platform actively seeks and promotes experiences that adhere to eco-friendly practices, and we donate £1 per trip to Just One Tree to restore our forests and seas. Currently, we do not think carbon offsetting is an effective way to mitigate climate change. It is often used as a license to pollute. We prefer to partner with organisations that work directly on the ground for conservation and climate change mitigation.

Question 14

What is your community commitment?

Accepted Answer

We understand the importance of preserving and respecting the cultural diversity of the destinations we serve. We promote experiences that let travellers engage with local communities in a meaningful way. We work closely with regional partners to ensure tourism benefits stay local. We do not support poverty tourism or 'human-zoo' experiences.

Question 15

How do you select your suppliers?

Accepted Answer

You can read our three-step curation process at kodamatravel.com/about.

Question 16

I would like to partner with Kodama, what do you offer?

Accepted Answer

We recognise that the journey towards ethical travel is not one that can be embarked upon alone. We are committed to fostering meaningful partnerships with NGOs, civil groups, institutions, creators, hotels/hosts, and businesses that are committed to responsible travel. If you share the same vision and values, please get in touch with us at hello@kodamatravel.com.

Question 17

Can I list my travel services on Kodama Travel?

Accepted Answer

If you are a tour operator or offer travel-related services, you may be eligible to list on our platform. Please register as a supplier at kodamatravel.com/supplier and we will get back to you as soon as we can.
