Overview
The Sunrise Tour isn't just your everyday tour. We only run them when we see an amazing morning forecast. Beat the heat and hit the water with the sun just dawning on a new day. A highlight of your stay in Byron Bay will be this ocean adventure padding up close with dolphins, whales and turtles in Cape Byron's Marine National Park and learning the local Aboriginal stories and sacred places.
What you will be doing
Your 2 hour kayak tour will start at Byron Bay beach. Meet all your fellow paddlers, and pair up on the 2 person kayaks and learn the basics of paddling a sit-on-top kayak
Impress your friends (and yourself, just quietly) getting out past the shore break. Learn about local Aboriginal stories and sacred places. The cultural history of this area is amazing and will give you a new appreciation for this beautiful place. Paddle along The Pass surfing Mecca, Wategos millionaire row and Cape Byron, Australia's most Easterly point. Keep an eye out for those cheeky dolphins, whales when in season and turtles popping up for a breath of fresh salty air. It is such a privileged to see these marine mammals in their own habitat, wild and free and not in captivity. Be amazed by the clear water, colour and variety of the tropical fish & reef
Relax and take in the spectacular coastline scenery
Snack on a few Tim Tams to replenish the energy! Enjoy the stunning view of the Byron Bay coast line and lighthouse whilst paddling back to shore. You might like to surf a wave back to shore - we will show you how

About your host
Go Sea Kayak Byron BayWe are award-winning sea kayak experts, owned and operated by Local Surf Lifesavers. Climb aboard our super stable kayaks and take in the view of magnificent Cape Byron Headland as you kayak with local dolphins. Take a break from kayaking and snorkel hidden reefs with turtles and view the massive Humpback Whales only meters from your kayak during migration season. All of our crew are passionate about protecting Mother Nature and acting ethically upon our tours and throughout our operations. We are working constantly at this and making improvements in sustainability all the time. Below are some examples of our efforts: 1. Solar Power - our business is run by the sun, our trailer has solar panels, and large battery’s storing power enables us to use it for our office equipment, radios, phones, and other equipment, we are an off-grid business. 2. Reduce single use plastics - we are working on reducing our use of single use plastics. Guides have agreed to use stainless drinking bottles and we suggest you do the same. We also are working on eliminating single use coffee cups ( we all need a coffee) and having our own mugs within the workplace. 3. Buying local - our food is mainly sourced locally from local farmers and producers through the Brunswick Village Grocer store. 4. Use reef-safe sunscreen to help protect our reefs and ourselves
