What you will be doing
You will be picked up from your hotel and head to downtown to Parque de los Periodistas (meeting point) where you will be introduced to the city and learn about the strong indigenous past that gave birth to Bogota's foundations. Walking through La Candelaria you will learn about the colonial process, independence and the contemporary revival of indigenous traditions. You will visit a very special place for ancestral drinks at the heart of La Candelaria where you will be able to try Chicha, Zhuke, Guarapo and Chirrinchi as you get tips for tasting, and facts relating to ancient rituals and traditions from Colombia's countryside.
Head North to Palermo where you will go to craft beer pubs specialised in developing distinctive flavours that appeal to the local public. You will learn about beer crafting, beer tasting, and the impressive history that made beer cast off chicha in being Colombia's most popular alcoholic beverage.
