Your experience will begin with a private vehicle transfer from Santa Marta to the town of Río Ancho. Along the way, you will appreciate the imposing beauty of the mountainous landscape and the rich biodiversity that the Sierra Nevada harbours. Upon reaching Río Ancho, you will embark on a four-hour trek through a medium-difficulty trail that will take you to the community of Tungueka.
Upon entering Tungueka, you will be greeted with the warmth and kindness of its inhabitants. You will have the opportunity to learn about their ancestral customs, their worldview, and their deep connection with nature. You will tour their traditional homes, built with natural materials and in harmony with the environment, and you will be able to participate in a unique cultural exchange that will allow you to understand the essence of this ancient people.
One of the most special moments of your visit will be the picnic lunch on the banks of the Ancho River. You will enjoy a delicious feast made with fresh local products, while you delight in the sound of the crystal-clear water and the lush vegetation that surrounds you. This experience will allow you to connect with the tranquillity and peace that emanate from this sacred place for the Kogui culture.
Your trip to Tungueka will end with a private vehicle return to Santa Marta. During the journey, you will have time to reflect on the profound cultural experience you have lived and the unique connection you have established with these ancient people.
