Overview
A rich ecological and cultural experience of Louisiana! Our Plantation Combo Tour is a combination of the Manchac swamp kayak tour followed by a lunch stop and then a tour of Whitney Plantation. Whitney Plantation is one of the only historic sites focused solely on the slave experience and features historic buildings, museum exhibits, modern memorials and first person narratives which give a voice to the enslaved people who worked and lived on plantations in Louisiana.
During the Manchac Swamp Kayak Tour, you will experience the Louisiana Bald Cypress-Tupelo swamp and view wildlife. This combo tour is perfect for those looking to combine these two must-see destinations in one all-day activity (which you would not be able to do utilising separate shuttle services). Additionally our tour is a more personal experience; you are typically with a smaller group and our kayak guide will driving you to each stop from start to finish.

The Whitney Plantation tour is an audio tour and we highly regard the narrative and perspective they share concerning Louisiana's plantation history.
Dress comfortably for an outdoor trip. The winters can be cool and the summer can be hot. Bring a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen if needed. Bugs and mosquitos aren’t a problem. Don’t forget to bring your camera to come home with great memories from the beautiful Manchac swamp!
Contrary to what many believe, alligators have a natural fear of humans. We usually see alligators from babies up to 8-10ft long. We do not feed wildlife. Alligators tend to be on logs or swimming in the water and we see them from afar.
There is a possibility of being rescheduled if we do not have a minimum number of people booked on the combo tour. We will give you the opportunity to reschedule to a different day, join a kayak tour going out the same day or make it a private combo tour if this happens. We will alert you the night before if this happens. Also note that on rare occasions when Whitney Plantation is closed or unavailable, we will give you the option to visit Oak Alley Plantation instead.
