Step into the past as we journey to two of South Africa's most fascinating archaeological and natural sites. Venture into the spectacular Cango Caves, a world-renowned cave system featuring towering stalagmites, dramatic limestone formations, and chambers filled with centuries of history. A guided tour will reveal the caves' geological wonders and ecological significance. Then we travel to the Point of Human Origins, a site of immense archaeological importance where ancient human habitation has been discovered. As you stand on the rugged cliffs overlooking the Indian Ocean, a specialist guide will take you through the discoveries that shed light on early human life, our survival instincts, and our deep-rooted connection to nature.
We will set sail for an unforgettable encounter with South Africa's marine life! Embark on a boat trip to Seal Island, home to a thriving colony of Cape fur seals. Watch as they dive and play in the waves, and keep your eyes peeled for dolphins, seabirds, and even the occasional great white shark in the surrounding waters. After a scenic seaside lunch, we'll visit the Bartolomeu Dias Museum Complex, where you'll discover South Africa's maritime history and early European explorations of the region.
Set off at dawn for a guided game drive, where you'll track Africa's Big Five and other wildlife, including giraffes, zebras, rhinos, and buffalo. Your expert guide will share fascinating insights into their behavior, conservation efforts, and the delicate balance of ecosystems. Enjoy a delicious safari-style lunch in a scenic setting before taking part in a discussion on ethical wildlife tourism and conservation initiatives within private reserves.

About your host
OdysseyWe were born from a deep-rooted passion for ethical conservation, immersive travel, and creating meaningful impact. What began as a local wildlife research initiative under the name Nkonzo Wildlife and evolved into a dynamic brand that reflects a broader vision: to connect people, wildlife, and places through purpose-driven travel experiences. The name Odyssey represents more than travel—it symbolises a journey of discovery, transformation, and purpose. It reflects our belief that true adventure lies in learning, in giving back, and in walking a path that leaves a positive footprint. Whether you're a student conducting hands-on research, a traveller seeking an authentic wildlife experience, or a group leader planning a school expedition, Odyssey is your partner in meaningful exploration.
