About your host
Outback Abisko ABWe are based in the centre of the mountainous Abisko. We specialise in snowmobiling in winter and hiking & biking in the summer. We take you along the world-famous Kungsleden trail in both summer and winter. As many of our activities are based in the deep Abisko Valley and the Abisko National Park, we have a responsibility towards our surroundings, the Sami, local wildlife, and Nature as a whole. Therefore, we have the following green initiatives: 1). We have close contact with the County Administrative Board and the affected Sami villages. We apply for special permits to conduct our business in Abisko National Park. 2). Our guides are certified according to the Swedish model Fjälledarnormen through the mountain safety council. 3). Our business trades locally and performs almost all repairs and services on our vehicles ourselves. 4). Our vehicles are the most environmentally friendly alternative that suits our business. The snowmobiles are 4-stroke engines with eco mode. 5). We adjust the activities and size of the group based on current restrictions to minimise wear and tear and overexploitation. 6). Our transports and pickups are made according to our sustainability plan and therefore included in all our tours.
For every trip booked, Kodama Travel donates £1 to Just One Tree to restore our forests and the ocean.
